Antique Chinese Celadon Jade Bowl with Finely Carved Stand Description and Item Information Up for sale is this lovely, antique, carved Chinese jade bowl, with its exquisite, beautifully detailed, fitted hardwood stand. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This jade bowl has thin, even walls which are translucent when held to a light source. The stone has a highly polished surface. The jade is an unusual sage green color, with dark inclusions; from my research, this appears to be a rare stone.

It has an elegant form, and it stands on a slight foot. It stands about 2 5/8 inches tall, and it has a maximum diameter of approximately 6 5/8 inches. It weighs 8.7 ounces, unpacked.

The wooden stand rests on five curved feet. It was sensitively carved with scrolls and flowers. Atop its stand, the bowl is about 5 1/8 inches tall; the two pieces together weigh 13.7 ounces. This would be a very nice addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts. Identification The exact age of this piece is not known.

It is antique, likely Qing dynasty. Condition The bowl and stand look very good, with light wear. There are no chips or damage cracks to the jade or to the wood. A one inch, fine fracture to the jade is inherent to the stone; this coincides with some small patches of rust color. This area is shown in the eighth and ninth photos.

The stretcher ring beneath the stand wiggles slightly within the legs. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made. And international government regulations prohibit such behavior.
