Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this. Very rare and highly collectable circa 1870 hand cared Walnut framed Conversation couch. This sofa is pure art furniture, it looks elegant and sophisticated in any setting, ideally suited to a large entrance or perhaps a library, it comfortably seats four and if you like to be more intimate, then eight. The frame is beautifully sculpted hand carved walnut, the piece has the original Victorian porcelain castors which recess inside hand turned bun feet. This piece really is a tour de force of style and design.
Condition wise, the frame is 100% solid and stable, it has a wonderfully rich glow and patina throughout, the upholstery is circa 1940's, its in good useable order however if it were me I would. It, there will be some light marks here and there and a bit of the ribbon has come loose.Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask.
