ONE Exceptional pair of carved Lapis Lazuli earrings in excellent condition. Lapis Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan as early as 7000BC. Lapis is made up of Lazulite, (blue) Calcite (white) and Pyrite Gold Flecks. The most desirable is the deeper royal blue colour, seen in these earrings, with no calcite seen(white inclusions). Please see the last image stating the healing properties associated with wearing Lapis Lazuli. These earrings have been adapted to 9 ct gold shepherd hooks for wearing in pierced ears. The total drop of these earrings is 5 cm (from where hook enters ear lobe). No chips, nibbles to stones, or any dents to gold work Hence price. The stones do look overall mainly royal blue and the pyrite is not as obvious as the images suggest. Total weight 6.3 gms. Which I will supply in a black leather effect and velvet box.
