Exceptionally rare, mid Victorian fine mother of pearl shell cameo brooch of Hera /Juno, mother of the Gods and wife toZeus. It dates from around 1850 and is a Grand Tour cameo of the finest quality. It has been skillfully carved by a master craftsman in high relief.
Hera is depicted wearing her diadem. The cameo is mounted in it's original ornate pinchbeck metal mount.The brooch measures 2.25 x 1.8 ins. Total weight is 13.26 gms.
