19 C. Antique Finely Carved Shell Cameo Brooch/pin-925 Sterling Silver
This high-domed, shell cameo dates from 1860 to 1880. The straight roman nose on the figure and the silver mark date the piece. The very fine detailing of the head and garments was done by a master craver. The pin has sterling roping around the shell and a C-clasp. It weighs 8.78 grams, and is 1 /12" high (35mm) and 1 1/8" wide.
