Fine Japanese Meiji Period Carved Okimono Of A Sage / Scholar With A Goat - Signed. A Meiji period Japanese carved okimono. It features a well detailed carved figure of a sage or scholar. He has a long flowing beard and robes with a carved staff in one hand and a scroll in the other.He has a recumbent Goat at his feet. It is signed to the underside as shown and comes with a carved wooden base to stand on. A couple of old glued repairs to the staff, otherwise in good condition. Please refer to photos (all of which enlarge). Dimensions : 135mm high x 65mm x 50mm approx excluding the base.
