Flemish furniture was popular in 17th century. The wood most used was. And the distinguishing feature was a profusion of elaborate carving.
The furniture was often heavy. The so-called Flemish scroll, an S or C curved ornamental form in which a scroll is broken by an angle, was prominent. So was the Flemish foot: a scroll-like ending to an S or C curved leg.In Very Good Original Condition. A most imposing piece of furniture. Notable condition remarks: Excellent condition with only the odd mark as would be expected of an item of this age. This piece is very solid, strong and quite heavy.
