FORMERLY PART OF THE COLLECTION AT THE BISMARCK MUSEUM IN SCHÖNHAUSEN. A fine and highly detailed oval cork relief model of castle with sailing vessel in foreground. Antique and wholly original oval relief cork model, mounted within an ornately crafted oval metal frame.

Maker's label on rear'J. Size of frame: 46cm x 39cm / size of cork carving: 24cm x 16cm. Possibly some slight loss of cork to one small area, but this may be artist's wash to create effect. Museum accession labels on rear.

Museum labels to rear with accession number. This model was originally part of The Bismarck Museum collection on the Schönhausen estate.

The collection was confiscated by the Soviets at the end of WWII, and the estate's castle demolished. A Bismarck museum was re-established in 1998.
